RPM Speedway Crowns Track Champions

44t 'The Taz Man' Tyler Hahn of Stockton, KS

     Over 100 cars showed up for championship night, Friday evening, September 18, with 5 track champions crowned at the end of the evening.

     'The Taz Man' Tyler Hahn of Stockton picked up his first win of the season in the IMCA Modified A-feature, followed by Dave Hardesty.  Corey Lagroon of Salina finished third, good enough to clinch the track championship, followed by Brian Calhoon and 'Rapid' Ronnie Hill.  Heat race winners were Hahn, Mike Pertersilie, Hardesty, and Nate Moore.

     Colby's Dustin Daniels won the third IMCA Stock Car heat race, then was first to the checkers in the feature.  Cory Struckhoff, Adam Balthazor, Travis Sherfick and Terry Cunningham rounded out the top five.  Cole Wilson and Geoff Jermark also won heat races.  Struckhoff of Kensington, edged out Cunningham by 2 points for the track title.

     Marquette's B.J. Dauer had the IMCA Hobby Stock track championship clinched before the night started.  Veteran Jerry Hudson of Kensington made his way to the winner's circle in the main event, trailed by G.W.'Cheeseburger' Fuller, Kirk Karst, Cody Graham and Josh Lakta.  Luke Pfannenstiel, Dauer, and Joel Younger were victorious in the three heat races.

     The IMCA Northern Sport Mods saw Belleville's Tyler Frye win the main event and a trip to victory lane.  Track champion Brian Conness of Wakeeney finished in the runner-up spot, followed by Troy Robinson, Fred Traskowsky and heat three winner Jeremy Blackwill.  Duane Wahrman and Joe Couse also claimed victory in their respective heat race.

     Michael Smith of Stockton won the IMCA Sport Compact feature to give him the track championship by one point over second place Jesse Dunlap.  Heat two winner Nick Wolff placed third, followed by Allen Rice and Art Herzog.  Smith won the other heat race.

     RPM Speedway will host the 3rd Annual Fall Nationals on Friday & Saturday, October 16-17, with all five classes in competition.  The 2nd Annual Kansas State Shootout Race of Champions will also take place on Saturday after all the main events.  For more information on the Fall Nationals, contact promoter Rod Bencken at 785-672-0123.
