Three of the feature winners at RPM Speedway in Hays, KS, Friday evening, July 24, were familiar faces in the winner's circle at the 3/8-mile oval.

After a few tries to get started, the IMCA Modified A-feature finally got underway with Mike Petersilie taking the lead, chased by Kyle Rohleder and Rodger Peck.  After a couple of cautions in the first half of the 20-lap event, Petersilie continued to lead at the halfway mark, trailed by Peck, John Fose, Jason Schoenberger and Dave Hardesty.  The top four cars stayed close late in the race, then on lap 16 Gorham's Schoenberger took the top spot on the backstretch and held on to the checkers for his second win of the season.  Fose won the battle for second spot, followed by Petersilie, Peck and Corey Lagroon. Heat race winners wer Petersilie, Peck and Hardesty, with Jim Bell first to the checkers in the B-feature.

The lone new face in victory lane came in the IMCA Stock Car division.  Pat bedore led the opening lap of the 20-lap race, but gave way to Bob Rutherford on lap 2.  Rutherford was later passed by Adam Balthazor on lap 6, who continued to lead to the halfway point.  Then on lap 14 'Chopper' Cory Struckhoff of Kensington made a move under Balthazor in turn 3 to take the lead.  The final caution waved on lap 16 but Struckhoff was able to hold off Balthazor, Travis Sherfick, Terry Cunningham, and Bedore for his first win at RPM this season.  Balthazor and Sherfick were the heat race winners.

Kent Tammen took the lead at the drop of the green in the 15-lap IMCA Hobby Stock feature.  Tammen led the first five laps before Luke Pfannenstiel took over the lead.  His lead was short-lived however as Marquette's BJ Dauer took control 2 laps later.  Pfannenstiel stayed closed but trailed Dauer across the finish line, BJ's sixth win this season at Hays.  GW Fuller finished third, followed by Tammen and Mathew Crowell.  Dauer and Mike Traskowsky were victoious in the two heat races.  Fuller, of Tescott, claimed the checkers in the Oldham's Sales/PPG Paints cash dash.

In the IMCA Sport Compact feature, Art Herzog lead the first four laps before Michael Smith made the winning pass on lap 5.  Smith lead the remaining distance in the 12-lap feature for his second win this season.  Jesse Dunlap, Alex Jensen, Herzog, and heat race winner Nick Wolff rounded out the top five.

The evening's race sponsor for 'Ladies Night' was Western Beverage of Hays.
